im wanting to build up my 2.4L what should i do?
forged pistons, rods, port and polished head, aftermarket valvetrain, higher or lower compression depending on what you want to do, bored throttle body, intake, full exhaust, cams, 2.3 oil pump swap ect.
I reccommend doing something other than stock.
-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party
are you talking about going all motor? forced induction? do you want a fast STREET LEGAL car? do you car if its street legal? what kind of times do you want to run?
give us some clue please, then i will help you....cause there are dozens of setups for the 2.4L

street legal...... no real specific time....... i was thinking about turboing it but idk witch is better all engine or engine and turbo....... witch will be cheaper/more relibale....
witch is the best way to go thats al i want u know and wat should i do when i go that way

dont be an idiot. you made a worthless post....in other words: spam.
to answer your Q zach, a procharger would be the easiest way to go for forced induction. its like a SC and a turbo mixed. easy to install, its reliable power and they are cheaper then a turbo or sc setup.
all engine would be cheaper then a procharger but you would be running as fast. all engine on a 2.4L is usually in the 14s. procharged a 2.4L means 13s on a stock bottom end.
hope this helps.

That's because people don't search enough and don't do any homework. They just build from what people tell them but they don't know s***.
A well build 2.4 N/A can run in the 13's for the same amount of money as a turbo kit(made by a company).

Agreed with Gilles. 99% of the twits working on the LD9 with "built" motors don't know their ass from their elbow. A properly built LD9 will get you well into the 13's n/a and then some - it's all in how you prep the motor and what your application is.
The .org is a good and bad place to come for info. For every 1000 members 1 has good, real info from experience and 999 have passed on crap that they think is how it's really done.
Your best off looking at how other platforms achieve a stronger, better motor and applying the principles they use to your own motor.

ok so what should i do to my engine so that i can s/c and not harm the engine and get the best boost
depending on your goals, a completely stock engine may be enough. But once you get boost you will want more, and that is where things get dangerous. First thing you wanna do, before you buy anything, is make sure you can manage your fuel and run the right AFR.
Some one just starting out, can go and buy a good used GM charger, get the reflash, and have a great time with that. If you wanna push much more than that then you are looking at needing some more serious mods.
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED
well i have read that from jbodyperformance they sell cams that add like 22 -33 hp and my engine is blown so im lokn at building it up or by the same engine and buildidng it up and any way i was thinking hell those cams play s/c that like 80 90 hp u know
buy the GM s/c for the 2.4L or start reading and learning. dont' go procharger cuz there is a bunch of custom stuff you'll have to MAKE. I'd say for a reliable fun car get the GM s/c and run that till you learn enough to know what you'll need.
Sven you totally quarterloafed your computer..
yea i k now i want to get the gm s/c but what should i do do my engine befor i get it so that the engine dosnt get ruend and so it will have a lil more hp
they dont make the exact fit procharger for the 2.4L yet. but they have a custom kit with all the parts then you have to make a bracket to hold it to the side of the block. ive seen it done. its not hard.
you can push 8-10 psi safely on a stock bottom end. but my best advice is to do what im doing: building a safe, reliable engine all motor..
do all bolt ons (header, bigger TB, motor mounts, CAintake, catback exhaust.
then do the medium mods that are a little harder but will increase hp: cams, port/polish head and intake manifold, clutch or high stall TQ and a good suspension with good tires.

i have the Jbodyperformance stage 2 camshafts and at 50mph i can feel them kick in, odd sounding but i do, i cannot wait to get HPT and tune my ecu, i should pickup a good amount of tenths with just the tune, cant forget the 65 shot of nitrous im also going to be adding to the tune if i wanna get nasty on the street
