Would a PnP on the intake manifold do anything? I'm upgrading to the 56mm Tb and i gotta take the Manifold off anyways cuz of a broken bolt that i have to drill out for the tb. How do u go about doin a PnP on the manifold?

Not much, its just another mod that works best with other mods. If you p&p the head, the manifold, bigger tb and intake, your looking at about 10hp, MAYBE. maybe more maybe less. A 3angle or 5 angle valve job with a back-cut would help too.

Best you can do otherwise is gasket matching. May not give you any decernable increase in hp or tq, but you might as well optimize what you have.

can't really gasket match the 2200 intake manifold, or really polish it.

if your doing it youself, and have the manifold off, you might as well port it a little bit, just do what RSM does and remove the slight lip on it. its easy to do, but you notice anything

im a newbie somewhat so heres the questions. Whats gasket matching? do u have a pic of the lip on the intake? I have a another head here im sendin out to get bored for bigger valves and while their at it get it P&P, then when i get it back i got roller rockers and maybe springs. i also got my 56mm TB and WAI.

Gasket matching is putting the gasket on the manifold and grinding away any metal that isn't covered by the gasket.

you'll notice the lip where the tb goes when you take the manifold off... and you can't gasket match a 2200 manifold because the gasket is just a rubber seal, and you would ruin the mani if you tried

YOu can match the back sied of the TB to your intake manifold, and you can remove some defects in the IM near the head.

To remove the im, you just need to remove your intake, throttle body, and the 6 or 8 bolts on the back side of it.

alright just wonder. I saw a pic of somekinda intake manifold on another site i cant remember if it was for a j-body for not but it had the injectors in the intake thats why i was wondering.

the injectors are in the IM, but you can just un bolt (2) 12mm bolts, on the bracket holding the rail on, then pull the rail and injectors together, they shouldn't leak at all and there is enough play to get it out of the way.
