Searched and found nothing....so dont yell at me

anyways....i was reading about this device:

http://www.digimoto.com/faq.htm#Quarter%20Mile%20Stats

sure seems like a great price for what it does! has anyone heard anything about it or used it? i would like to know since im considering getting this......its like a gtech pro meter but half the price and you can fix the CEL.

what do you guys think?

There's a couple products out there like this that record data straight from the OBD II port. I never posted what I found because I was ready for HpT so I could actually change the things I recorded.

Its not far off, the readouts like RPM, MPH, etc are accurate, the 1/4 mile stuff is not bad, but I wouldn't take it as a definitive time, especially if you get wheelspin on launch.

do you just use any kind of laptop with the software installed?

can you check this stuff while the car is running? is it real-time data?

Yes, its realtime data, it works with any computer with a serial port, or you'll have to pick up a usb to serial port converter.

isnt this digimoto diffrent from HPT? i know with hptuners you can change values....but i dont remeber reading that HPT can tell you qtr mile hour speed, 0-60 time, etc.

also: what are the system requirements for the software that digitmoto comes with? i cant find anything on thier site that says any kind of laptop specs.

i ask cause i have a crappy laptop i wanna use...it has like a 100mhz processor.
