2.4 ecotec may be bigger but it's not the same set up there is a different head on the 2.4 then the 2.2 ecotec the 2.4 is VVTi which makes it harder to boost and the 2.2 isn't even in the case of the 2.2 vrs 2.0 argument the bigger engine isn't always the better engine out of all the engines so far the quickest reving engine is the 2.0. think about it the quicker you get into the power band with a supercharger the more boost you can make the 2.4 isn't made to to be an extermly quick or high reving or engine, for instance look at the skyline the engine in the top of the line one is a 2.6 L I6 but it's revs up like crazy when it's pushed by boost so with the 2.4 ecotec your probilly getting into another whole ballpark thats not very easy to work with.basically the 2.2 or 2.4 ecotecs are better choses do to there practically

would you say that you would keep the orig. 2.4 or swap in the 2.4 ecotec. which would be a better build for all motor power(sfar as parts that r made for the engines?)

in theory a 2.4 with either a ported head or 2.2 head would be a great option

however if I am not mistaken the 2.0,2.2,and 2.4 all have the same bore. the difference is in the stroke and the long stroke of the 2.4 makes for an unstable motor at high rpm.

if you didn't plan to go much past 6k I think you would be alright however I dunno if forged internals are available for a 2.4

2.4 has a large bore and stroke

only the 2.0 and 2.2 share the same bore size , abd each has a different stroke

ok so your saying that the 2.2 ecotec will wind up higher than the 2.4 ecotec, so that would be a good swap over my excisting 2.4 or the 2.4 eco. dont mean to bore from these ?'s , just getting ready for future plans
