Hi everyone. I am looking to swap the 2.4 with auto tranny into my 00 cav. I haven't been to local junk yards but I've been looking around on the net to get a good estimate. I'm seeing anywhere from $1000 to $2000 for the set with low miles!! Is this average price? I thought I could get the pair out of a junkyard for around 500 bucks! Is that too low of an estimate? What did you guys pay that have bought from the junkyards? Thanks in advance!

my 2.4L alone with 67000km's was 1200 CDN when I had to replace it

your almost better off getting a eco , 2.4's are getting harder to find

i just bought a 2.4 with a spun rod bearing for 35 bucks but then I had to pay $165 for shipping, well worth it. its from a 2000 so I have to change a few things, EGR and Injectors etc. but cheap. keep your eyes out on ebay, it saved my ass.

i got my 00 2.4l engine with 12k miles on it for 850$.

I picked up a 98 2.4 with 65k miles for $750...... but that was about 5 years ago..... lol
