buy and intake, motor mounts, header and hi flow cat. if you search you should be around 600. that's just my 2 cents

axleback exhaust? lol get a true exhaust, obx header or pacesetter header with a catback exhaust. Also spend like $40 and get some cheap intake to replace the stock one.

well both cause if u down have a good enough suspension then how r u supposed to get the power to the ground if u have wheel hop?

don't drop the clutch at the green. thats how you get wheel hop. With only $600 you're not going to get much. I've spent close to $5000 this winter alone on upgrades. Just take my advice and get an exhaust it'll make a difference or save your money and buy a turbo kit.

You won't have intense wheel hop stock nor with the mods that total to $600. The amount of money you have will not buy you much and, even with all the bolt-ons, won't give you much power. You can spend money on an exhaust, intake, mounts, etc. but you won't have enough left for a proper suspension setup. I've seen the Koni Sport Kit going for around $630, and that's the cheapest I've seen so far. You have to decide what you want out of your car, how much money you're willing to spend, where you're willing to spend it, research, read, think, etc. On our cars, $600 won't give you much power output, but you could do a few small things here and there. But remember, to get quality, you have to spend money. To build a quick car, you have to spend money. To build a nice show car, you have to spend money. If you really want wheel hop, start researching boost and/or high power N/A applications, but it'll cost you a pretty penny.

Well, since you can't use a header with a turbo if you get one, I wouldn't get the header if your plans are for turbo. I'd say get a good catback exhaust, maybe along with a high flow cat. Perhaps a short shifter. Motor mounts would probably be a good idea too. You should be able to find all of that for around $600. Now if you can't install all of it yourself, keep in mind the cost of installation as well - you shouldn't have too many rust issues with your exhaust though so you could probably just bolt it on yourself.

yeah i hear what all of u guys r sayin and earlier my mom said she would buy me my exhaust so im gonna get an HKS muffler(just cause i dnt like the way all the other muffler systems look) and im gonna have my local shop weld up an exhaust prolly 2.25 or 2.5 in and just have it run the same way the stock exhaust was run and so im prolly gonna spend it on an intake all the motor mounts a short throw and maybe somethin else but my idea for this car is to have it look really nice and have a little bit of a punch when i push down the track every other weekend or so. and i already have a st of konig 18" rims so thats taken care of but other than that i want it just to look good and be fairly quick ya knw

Nothing wrong with wanting a little more power and a little more style. Good luck with your projects and happy modding. And if I can suggest something, go with a 2.25" exhaust for a basic N/A application rather than a 2.5", you might experience some power loss and/or inefficient scavenging because of the 2.5's large diameter.

Actually, I have a 2.5 in cat-back on my car, cause I do have plans for boost. And I have actually seen a performance increase, there is no way to loose overall power if you get an exhaust. Think about it, its a bigger piping, which mean more high end power, and its all mandrel bent, so no matter what it is better than stock, and yes I can feel the slight difference. Now as far as getting more torque goes, no, I probably got none from my exhaust, but it has a little more pull in the power band, but it's just exhaust, barely noticeable. But yeah, if your not getting turbo, just go for 2.25 inch exhaust, it won't give you as much overall horses, but it will give you some torque, so it evens out.

Loss of power meaning loss of exhaust gas velocity, and on our motors with 2.5" piping that's what will happen. This could also lead to inefficient scavenging. I'm not saying you'd lose horepower, but you're not helping anything by lowering velocity. Furthermore, a 2.5" catback won't do a whole heck of alot especially since your exhaust can only basically flow as much as the smallest diameter pipe. A cat back doesn't do much unless the entire exhaust is replaced.

yeah i knw but ya knw for people like me who just got out of high school and plan to go to college money is very tight so i am goin to eventually replace the entire exhaust and slap on a huge turbo and if at all possible run about 75-100 shot of nitrous

I'm in college, too, and I know how it feels. Just make sure you do your research before you boost. May I suggest reading Corky Bell's "Maximum Boost", it'll help introduce you to boost and give you so much great information.
