Been racing past few weeks and off the line im like a turtle once i hit like 30ish im gone though, its an auto which doesnt help also.Question is is there anything i can do besides boosting that will give me more low end power off the line??
already have a pacesetter 4-2-1 ceramic coated and 2 1/4 magnaflow catback/cat and im ready to put on a 56mm TB which will probally take more low away right?
Usually auto's are better off the line, but lose in the tope end. Are you trying to get better times? If so auto's seem to be really hard to make perform well at the track. You could get a higher stall converter so you can launch harder off the line.

Your profile says you have a Pacesetter 4-1 header. A bigger throttle body will raise your power band to someplace higher. So that will hurt you mid range.
You could do a small shot of nitrous.

meh? in j-bodies perhaps, because no one ever seems to take the time to properly build/modify the trans.... But last I checked, the turbo cobalts kicking ass in NDRA and NHRA are all autos.
What he's describing sounds to me like a bog which would say that a higher stall torque converter would help to start. But thats a pretty expensive mod if you can't do the work yourself.
Other then that, the best mod for low end is a gm s/c or a well matched turbo.

Sorry I should have been more detail. I was meaning J-Body stock auto's. Unless boosted or nitrous all motor auto's do not perform that well at the track.
Also not all the GM race cars are auto's. They have a 6 speed in one of the cars.

The TC would be the biggest improvement. Look into TCI, Yank and Performace Torque Converters or any of the custom Race / Performance TC manufacturers, that can do a custom TC. They are more expensive, but well worth it.
A couple of things that would help over all and can be used with the TC are, shorter tires and the B&M ShiftPlus. Get a pair of wheel and a set of tires that are about 1 1/2" - 2" shorter in diameter, this will have the same effect as having more gear to help you accelerate off the line quicker. This won't put you motor in the power range of your motor (like the TC will), but will give you more off the line torque to help you accelerate. If you have the stock 205/55R16s, try a 205/50R15 tire on a set of stock steelies. The B&M ShifPlus won't do much for the low end, but will give you quicker, firmer shifts. Only use the ShiftPlus when racing(at the track), they are believed to cause problems if used all the time.
