01 Cavalier 2.4L auto.

Just wondering what its going to take to swap over to MSD coils and spark plug wires instead of having it under the IDI cover. nnot going to install a DIS 2 just wondering if i can even install coils outside and what it will take. Which MSD coils should i get (just the regular GM DIS coils?) thanks!!!!!!!

sweet thanks! so has anyone done this to a 2.4L before (move the coils and use plug wires instead, on the stock computer with no DIS-2?) if so what needs to be done to do it?

As far as i knwo u need to run the dis 2 to do that....owen knows he had it on his 2.4..phil

yeah...if you search through the forums someone did it a year or so ago...its a big job good luck

damnit, i've been searching for hours now and cant come up with a thing... wow this blows lol, i find i hard to belive that no one has done/thought of doing this...

Our drag car is running external coils on a 2.3......... we used the pre 98 2.2 ohv icm and coil pacs..... made the icm an 'adapter' and wired our icm to that...... works great...... we then added the DIS 2 setup..... but that was after having the external coil setup for awhile.

damn, hit post too soon...... not running any MSD coils yet...... but replacement MSD 2.2 coils would be what you need.
