i didnt know they made stroker kits for 2.2's ...for that matter ive never seen a stroker that was "kit"..but good luck
Check out importperformanceparts.net...they have all kinds of parts
These are J-bodies, not hondas.
I've never seen a stroker kit for the 2.2 let me try asking aroung.
there was a stroker kit for the 2.2 but it destroyed more engines then it helped.
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
the only stroker i know of is for the 2.3 nad it is FAR from a "kit" ..it needs alot of modifications....thats why i say ive never seen a "kit"
The stroker kit for the 2.2 was sold by dragevolution and 99redz24 is right they sucked the high hardone. otherwise there is no one currently marketing a stroker hit for the ln2 motors that i'm aware of...

to a NICE 2.6L with a small bit of boring as well. then slap on the M90 S/C w/18psi and pray to the Gods that the tranny and front end holds on. <- I'll let you know if it does
Do they have stroker kits for the ecotec?

The S10's 2.2L has a stroker crank available from
http://dragevolution2200.com/Evolution_Store_S10_Engine_Parts.html
their site is currently down... but I checked in some s10 forums and it seems REALLY popular and loved.

There are quite afew others. The crank seems very reliable, and strokes the motor to 2.4L On the S10 2.2L motor is gave 145 hp 160 lb/ft...just the stroker, no other mods. Granted, everything above the head is different on the S10... I would expect similar gains to a jbody. Probably quite abit more with head and cam work.

Everything GM ecotec part
includes everything you need. It will decrease your displacement to 2.0litres

So you'd be destroking the motor. Kind of pointless unless you plan to boost in a big way.

Yes, the new factory 2.4 vvt motors are the same bottom end, and you could use of those cranks.

everything above the head? lol so, you me a diff valve cover? I'm just busting your balls man lol... S10 is the same except manifolds, and accessory placement, and also oil pickup and pan.
Last time anyone on the .org even tried a stroker from drag evolution was before i was even a member here, so for all we know they could have drastically improved since then. BUt the other thing is that a lot of those guys on the S10 forum sound like a bunch of morons..... "Stroker proven and more reilable than turbo" ?? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighhtttttt... I'd like more info on the stroker, but the site appears to be more than down, its disappeared....

Lol... Don't forget the argument of "If you beat someone, would you rather tell them you have a 2.2 or a 2.4"... Wow. I read that thread and I now feel less intelligent because of it.

yeah, hadn't gotten to that part of the thread when i posted..... to be absolutely honest though, even as much as i love the ohv.... when own an S10, its pretty stupid to bore/stroke a 2200 when you want more displacment, when a 4.3 or V8 is just a set of mounts, and ecu, and a wiring harness away.... J-bodies are light enough where the 2200's max power is enough for decent numbers.... In a 3500+ lbs pickup, you're better off with something with a higher power potential if you want to race it...
But anyway, enough of my off topic rant

Bingo!! One of the kids I went to school with took a base '97 Sonoma, yanked out the LN2, and stuck in a crate engine from Summit Racing. 383 stroker or something nuts like that. Seeing a built, carb'd small block under the hood of a late model Sonoma was frighteningly amusing for me.

I checked afew s10 forums, and anyone who was using a turbo was running 4-5 psi, with no intercooler, or fuel mods.
But I recieved a email from a S10 owner with that crank, and he uses a 100 wet shot on it, with bolt ons, but no head work... and he says he's been running that setup for four years with no problem, and pulls low thirteens at the track.
I should recieve an email later today with the specs, dyno results, and track times.
Sounds interesting, can't wait to read more about it.
"stroker" is wehn you increasse displacement.
and making the stroke shorter when boosting is actually better. engine is alot stronger.
Working on obtainting an M-Class license... ?? Hint: 2 wheels.
TORONTO CAVALIER wrote:"stroker" is wehn you increasse displacement.

Umm back to basics.
Let's use SBC's for example.
Starting out with a standard 350 SBC.
4.000" Bore x 3.480" Stroke
A "stroker" kit for the 350 is using a 400 SBC's crank. Which gives us a longer stroke (length the piston travels in the cylinder), yielding low-end torque.
4.030" Bore x 3.750" Stroke orrr... 4.000" Bore by 3.800" Stroke ('00, "HT 383", Gen.I truck crate motor)
Now, let's de-stroke the 350 with a crank from the 307 BBC. This gives us a shorter stroke, meaning the pistons travel less, which means we can wind up the motor faster. This gives up high-end HP, and with balancing can achieve RPM's well above what the 350 can do.
4.000" Bore x 3.25" Stroke.
the 307 is an SBC, not a BBC of course. Typo.
