It's been going on for a while but I was just wondering.. I noticed that after I changed the pulley on my car to the 2.3 pulley a few months after I started hearing this noise as if the belt was rubbing against something.
If I look carefully at the way the belt is routed. It wobbles a bit which makes me believe that the crank pulley is somewhat off.. I took a closer look and the pulley is fine and on just fine...
It's just an annoying sound that kind of makes me worry it's almost like a Shh shh shh shh shh at idle. and like I said, it's coming from the belt area of my engine. what could be causing that? Think I need a new pulley belt?
I notice a lot of old cars make this sound also from the belt area, But never really bothered to find out how to fix it.. anyone have a clue?
when i had my underdrive pulley something happend to the AC compressor pully and it started rubbing aginst the housing ot the AC compressor. Had to get a whole new clutch and pully assembly for the AC unit $375 you can check it out though, it made that same noise, but it might not have been related to the pully installation.
