I have that muffler on my cav with 2.25 cat back piping and when I down shift, I get a popping sound from the muffler, like its backfiring?? and im wondering if a hi flo cat will solve that..

That's somewhat of a normal sound to hear but even more noticeable when you don't have any resonators and even louder if you don't have a catalytic converter at all.

If you do have a catalytic converter on there, a high flow cat won't do anything to get rid of the popping sound...a resonator should get rid of it.
