ok...so im hooking up my starter tonight when i notice something i hadnt before...
its a relay looking thing bolted to the radiator support, with like 3 wires coming out of it...a ground, a wire that goes into the big harness that goes into the tranny etc. and a power wire thats hooked to the solenoid on the starter...ne one have a clue?
i bought the car...had some mods, no performance ones though, so i have no idea what it is...the previous owner thinks it was installed by the owner b4 him, so we have no clue what the F it is...im kinda hoping that its an autotrans interceptor..but i dont know.

thats the starter wire recal
recal? this thing looks like it was installed by a shop or something-NOT something factory....you can see where the wires were spliced in and they have heat--shrink tubing over them idk man help me! lol

yup recall.......any local repair shop can buy the harness and relay....
hey this is a little off topic but where near sioux city do u live? i live in it by the mall. where are u going to get all that work done to ur car at? i havent really tried to find places around here jw if u knew sumthin more. also after all that stuff listed i dont see turbo whats with that?

first off my registry is very old..i have a different car (but still have that one as well) and i have a gm supercharger now...eh cuz i hate TURBOS!!
and a recall hmmmmmmmmm....very interesting...im gonna haveto look into this, cuz my 97 Z doesnt have this relay on it.

i just got mine done. i waited till the sent a third notice. if u leave it long enough i guy @!#$ starts to melt in your ignition or start on fire. you should update your registry so i can see what ya accually have. have you had any work done around here?

uhm....email me and ill explain it all there, i would never have enough time to update it...ive sold a lot off the 97Z..but my 98Z has a lot of whats there to...my 97 has been sitting for a long time due to a blown motor, and ive never had my 98 running...it will be this summer tho, nitrous and all.

being it was a recall , it is something that was done at the dealer
it was put in because some people have a tendency to keep the car cranking when it wont start , which over heat the wire at the ign switch , and will possibly catch fire
so they add a relay near the starter so that high current doesnt pass through the switch , since it only takes like half amp to turn the relay on
