GM recommends it for the LSJ motor, I think there are people that installed it on their 2.2s without any noticable gains. CHeck out the Cobalt and Ion Forums.

Or you could just buy a header.

Yea but I so sick of over priced extremly low quality aftermarket parts that break don't last or need modifaction to fit the car. And if a header is like $400 plus you need to get it weilded for $100 and then it just rusts. That seems like crap to me!!!!!

Where thave you ever gotten a $400 header that just rusts? Seriously. My old Cavalier had a cheap $150 OBX header from eBay that was stainless steel, fit perfectly the very moment I installed it, and never gave me any problems. I didn't even break a weld on it until I rolled my car off the interstate, at which point the weld before the cat busted, and I don't think that counts as normal wear and tear. Trust me, you can get a good header for less than that stupid manifold. Extrude Honed or not, it's still a factory manifold.

^ ^ ^ ^ No doubt ! $400.00 will land you a top notch ceramic coated header and they CAN'T rust. You can pich up a regular header for around $150.00 and most are ment to be staraight bolt on replacements. Sure yo may have to cut some pipe off but its designed to mate right up to the stock system in most cases. I don't know what headers your talking about.

Email sent...

Pacesetter's armor coated header runs about the same price. Install will be just about the same as installing a new manifold.

Go to eBay and search for the OBX headers. They're stainless, won't rust, cost about $150, and bolt right up to the stock exhaust. Just make sure with whatever header you get you either install motor mounts or get a flex pipe installed on the exhaust.
