Just took a look at those part numbers. I'll ask you since you have one....these are the straight thru perforated cores correct? Not the louvers sticking into the exhaust stream?
Jesse D wrote:Do the pacesetter monza exhausts really sound that bad? I was going to get one because they are so damn cheap... $200 can't beat that... I was going to get a non-coated pacesetter header until a better deal came along too... how bad do they sound exactly? How would it sound with magnaflow hi-flow cat and rksport header on a 2.4?The Monza system sounds horrible. I too bought it a long time ago because of the fact that it was so damn cheap. But here on Planet Earth, you only get out of things what you put into them. You go cheap on the exhaust system, you get exactly that... a cheap exhaust system. I've said it many times, and I'll say it again... in order to get my Pacesetter system to sound even half-decent, I've had to modify it beyond recognition with a 25" glasspack, new muffler, and new collector gasket that doesn't leak like the one Pacesetter includes with the kit. It's raspy, even when the engine has warmed up, and even by itself (no other exhaust mods), tinny, very poor higher-pitched tone, and other exhaust additions like my DC Sports header made it horribly raspy. If you were to combine this system with a header and a high-flow cat. like you suggested, you'd probably shoot yourself in the face because of how terrible it sounds.
