My friend just got a brand new 06 2.2 Eco Cobalt Automatic and we decided to take it to the track and he ran the quarter mile, not sure on his time but he goated me into racing him with my 99 2200 3 spd. auto Sunfire.
Everything about this was legal, on a closed drag track and everything.
My question is, he was about 4 cars infront of me after the quarter, hes going to keep his car completely stock and mine at the moment is too.
Is their anyway I could beat his car with just bolt-ons or will it take some boost?
you might beat him with all the bolt-ons for your engine
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
just put 75 wet shot, intake, exhaust and tires
what times where you running?
The eco is a big improvement over the 2200, hes got over 20% more power than your car out of the box, and the weight is comperable.
Its not worth the cost of upgrading IMO

So you're asking how you can attain another 30 hp or so with bolt-ons. This isn't a racing question. Off to performance you go...
i have a 2200 and my brother has an Ecotec, they are both manuals but he still smokes me. i have a header full exhaust and an intake but i think i cancelled out the power gain from them with my 18's and heavy ass system (he has a system too but half the weight)so on stock steelies you could probly take him with all the bolt ons. i raced an auto eco and we stayed side by side for the most part (had steelies without system in) but with urs being an auto ull haveta do quite a bit to equal it out. all else fails use nitrous u migh blow ur motor but ull still get the win (hopefully).
