I'd like to pick up some cams for my 2200 and ive read lot of things that indicate that with the higher lift and other things of that nature, many people suggest getting new lifters, pushrods, stiffer valvesprings and retainers, all that good stuff. I'm looking at the cams from JBP and they have alot of the other parts at that site or even Howell has em cheaper. This is more of a newbie question but on the same subject, but my OHV has 2 cams, so are the prices for one? Furthermore, has anyone gotten the JBP cams on their 2200 and has sopme feedback on them?

um 2200's only have one camshaft unless you have the 2.3 2.4 and 2.2 ecotec. either ur car has 2 cams and u dont know what motor it is meaning i dont think u should be getting performance stuff for awhile or u have one of the other 3 and ur just retarded.
making sure what motor you have is very important!

Like said, you only have 1 camshaft and that camshaft is basically located in the block, not above the cylinder head like DOHC or SOHC motors. It's alot more work to replace it.

Well i knew it wasnt ontop and yes i know i have the 2200 engine, but i was just running off of comon engine knowledge that there was a cam for intake and one for exhaust, i was tempted to ask that in newbies forum before hand, but w/e now i know. Thank you, but the rest of my questions still remain about what i would need. And getting the engine pulled or doing w/e is necessary to put the cam (singular) in isnt an issue for me.

I'm glad you understand now but you should know that seeing an intake cam and exhaust cam something that is that common because there are plenty of motors that are designed with with 1 camshaft. There are V8s out there that are SOHC as well as I-4s and there are V8s that are OHV as well as your 2200, it's just how they were designed. Just letting you know that the whole Dual cam design isn't as common as you think.

first of all do you know what your going for in the future or not? the 1.6:1 Comp Cams roller rockers dont work with JBP's springs retainer and locks is what people have said.
