im just curious of what kind of hp numbers you guys are getting with your 2.2.
Which 2.2L? The eco's anywhere from 125whp and up and the 2200/2.2 anywhere from 90whp and up. It also depends on the tranny.
2012 HD VRSCF
2010 Ford Explorer
2006 Ford Ranger
2004 Chevy Cavalier
Hardly any.
Stock 2.2L OHV is 120 hp and 130ft-lbs
Stock 2200 is 115hp and 135ft-lbs
I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.
I was getting about.......110whp over what came stock?
N2O + Bolt-ons
= 220Hp/
250Tq
Coming Soon:HpTunersPro, EagleConnectingRods, WiescoPistons, 13sec2200
im talking about the 2.2 ohv or the 2200.

I think J H is right. I believe that those numbers are at the crank, tho.
Unfortunately, I don't personally know anyone who has dyno'd a 2.2 after extensive mods, but I'm sure that there are a number of guys who have (Karo, Event, etc.?)... Not sure...

pj put down i think 115 horespower to the wheels but he did a lot of mods to get there. all motor just doesn't seem right for this motor . i tryed . didn't like the gains so i decided to go turbo .. the turbo and intercooler kit comes in tommorow . YESSS!!!!! now i just need the fuel and ignitiopn mods .
i think pj only had a P&P head nothing else really that got him stock crank power transfered to the wheels. get higher compression and bored could go up a bit.
2.340 - 60,
16.591 @ 80.52 - 1/4
Guesswho69000@hotmail.com
yeah it possible its all in how you wanna get there. pj didnt put much effort i feel into his. he just used the ohv as an excuse to swap an eco ((and rightfully so))

what all is done to the engine that puts down 175hp. is it turboed or n/a. list the mods you have done to it. thanks
most of the limits for the 2.2 ohv are in the head. get it ported and polisheed new keeper (etc) and i guarantee youll be up there
of course and exhaust and header is need also..
JBO'S Mr. 64.....
I put down 115hp and 131tq with my 2200 OHV
my mods at the time of the pull were:
RSM intake
RKsport 4:1 header
2.25" exhaust from front to rear
no catalytic converter
rksport 02 simulator (for the non existent cat)
MSD blaster coils
Magnecore wires
motor mounts and tranny mounts (like they helped at all... )
Custom ported and polished head by A&H Engine Dynamic of wall stadium
SI stainless steel valves (stock diameter)
JBP HD racing valve springs
JBP chromoly locks
JBP chromoly retainers
JBP chromoly pushrods
my air fuel ratio was right around 13.4:1 which is optimal... (especially since i didn't mod my fuel system at all.. never got the chance)
I wanted to finish the head with crane roller rockers and when I installed them I'm pretty sure I blew all my lifters about a week later. I still haven't cracked the motor open yet to see what happened. I'm too busy enjoying/ modding the ecotec.
I dynoed the ecotec at 142hp and 145tq...
RKsport intake
Cat back exhaust
FIdanza 7lbs flywheel
Spec stage 3 clutch
motor mounts and tranny mounts
that was with a 14.7:1 air fuel ratio. When I get my MS installed and running that number should climb just by throwing more fuel at the engine.
but on topic, the OHV loves head work. The lack of volumetric efficiency is most apparent there. Get a nice aggressive head port and polish, and you'll see a big gain in power.
I dropped a half second on my 1/4 mile time with the head work ALONE.
16.2 - 15.7 and my trap speed went up 4mph

wtf do you mean am i talking out of my ass? most of the restrictions for the 2200 are in the head. anyone who knows anything about it knows that... ive seen to many people get there 2200 in the 200 hp zone, not n/a of course but either turbo or nitrous, so tell me! how am i speaking out of my ass?
