ok, well... i'm builting my ld9 in about a month or so and i wanted to know if i should go with the HO injectors and adj fpr or just keep the 2.4 injector and be fine.
this will stay N/A buy the way. i have read that N/A dont need more fuel but then in some other post i read that for 200+ whp you WILL need fuel mod. I am shooting for 200+whp.
here is how i'm builting it. (Hybrid 2.3 top with 2.4 block)
-086 head w/ ss valves
-HO cams (both)
-HO intake mani w/ tb
-HO exhaust mani with 2.25 mendrel bent exhaust
-wiseco 10.5:1 custom pistons .20 over
-2.3 oil pump swap
-msd dis 2
and i'll be running that engine with a 95 ecu with HO chips (7200 rmp limiter)
now my tought was to go with the HO injector and tune it along with a wideband but i'm not sure how to do that. what A/F mixture will i need? any help on this would be great.
thanx alot!
YES, bigger injectors, I don't think the factory 230cc (or whatever) support much HP
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED
your gonna have to give people more than 5 hours to answer a question.
id say go with 310 cc injectors
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
how much cc is the HO injectors? should i ude the adj fuel pressure regulator with them?
what psi should i go with? and what mixture?
thanx

not sure. im sure its listed somewhere. possibly on the quad4 forums

wouldn't hurt

um.....41???
not really sure on how much else i can help you. id say go ask someone who has done this before

your prob not going to get 200hp out of that setup but running a HO chip you'll need the HO injectors.....i would replace the rods and have everything balanced....the 2.4 rods are horrible for spun bearings and taking a left through the block....getting a adj fpr is always nice....the fp is up to you, going over 60psi at wide open throttle is going to end up with a stuck injector....so about 57 or 47 i can't remember what mine is set at right now but its something....and an inline fuel pump wouldn't hurt to take some strain off the fuel.....that only way your going to be able to tune it is put it on a dyno with a wideband in your tailpipe and play with the fpr.....or get a apexi safc controller and do it that way....oooooorrrrr buy a stand alone system and do it that way.....theres a ton of ways to do it......and just a tip whoever said that stock fuel system will handle 200hp is retarded it may but its not safe and i wouldnt do it....just remember what your reading and not everyone on here knows what they are talking about so take advice for what its worth....
yeah, the valves, i didn't mention because its not making power. the eagle rods are going in for sure!!!! I never tought of the inline fuel pump. Maybe i'll add that later. I'm not planing to go with an apexi nor a standalone. I guess i'll have to go to a dyno, but i know these are very expensive so it might be done later too! now i'm more looking to get a wideband and try to tune it with that. I'm pretty sure i'll hit 200whp with that setup. I guess we'll see on the dyno.
thanx.

Umm...dude...
You realize that with the 086 Head ALONE will raise your compression to about 11:1 - 11.5:1 compression, right? Putting higher compression pistons is just really pushing it as far as what octane fuel you're gonna have to use on a daily basis and whether you computer will even like that compression (my guess is hell no). It will probably start knocking and throw codes unless you get some type of standalone system like an AEM EMS to support it.

lol, yeah i know that. I've done my research long time ago about this. i'm not a newb anymore. hehe
Thats why i got pistons at 10.5:1 with the 086 head!!!!!!
these are like 8.9:1 c/r for the 2.4 with valves pocket in them, so with the 086 head, it raise up to 10.5:1.
Only thing i'm not sure about is what headgasket to go with, 2.3 or 2.4. Some says 2.3 others 2.4.....
