ECOTEC and normal oil PSI....Help!
Saturday, February 11, 2006 10:39 AM
2004 Cavalier, ecotec 2.2. , no turbo, no engine build mods, stock.

1. What is the normal engine PSI at Idle - no load, in park?
2. What is it at say 2500 rpm at 60 MPH?

Assuming normal operating temperature, 195-210 Coolant temp., need help with this one. Installed the glow-shift oil pressure gauge and reads cold @ 85-95 PSI(at startup- and 27 degrees F outside). Then once it warms up will read 60 PSI at idle and the back up to 85 or so. Whats up with this? Help!

P.S. - Install was a major pain!

P.S. - X2 - - - - -noone ever responded to my old requests on the topic, sorry!

Minimum Oil pressure at 1000 rpm is listed at 50-80psi.

Your readings are normal.

When it is colder the psi will be higher.
