another dam intake Q...sorry
Friday, February 10, 2006 2:21 PM
so im jus wondering, why the hell do such idiots work @ K&N?

I have an 05 sunfire with the Ecotec 2.2 and so i called the K&N help line because they only have listings for 2004 cold air intakes. so my question is why the hell is my car not on the list? is there some small difference mounting it or something, and the guy i talked to was no dam help. soo, anyone out there know if the K&N typhoon intake for and 2004 will fit on my 2005 Sunfire Ecotec 2.2L 4dr without any modification to it?!

Thnx

It'll fit just fine. nothing changed in the engine compartment from 03-05

the 05 Sunfire is no different from an 04 Sunfire. They probably haven't updated the software changing the 4 to a 5.

so im jus wondering, why the hell do such idiots call K&N without knowing about their own car?

I'm premium now! Woo!

They dont buy a $300 inatke when a $30 intake will do the same thing.

I'm just wondering why people always want to start something.... or rather..

"what kind of idiot tries to start @!#$ online"

Regardless. Some parts tend to be year specific. Sure maybe an intake is the same year to year but you never know. He's a smart consumer for asking.

And you sir need to calm down. This is a web forum... questions are welcome.

Yes ebay, look up BOMZ intakes. They are still shiny aluminum intakes, sometimes in your choice of color.

You could do this, just a thought to help ya out

But if you @!#$ up, you'll be paying big time then. Gotta weigh out your options.

Since when?

I bought one when i swapped the eco back several months ago.

Well no matter. Go to a local exhaust shop and ask if they can mandrel bend an aluminuim or stailess steel pipe to look like al the other eco intakes. That to should be way cheaper. And shop around for the best price too.

so are the air filters on these 30 dollar ones or something like the cosmo as good as say a K&N or AEM?
Re: another dam intake Q...sorry

AEM uses K&N filters. Most aftermarket filters are the same. I had better results with a $25 top power generic filter then a $60 K&N.

All you are doing is paying for a name brand.

the new AEM intakes are supposed to have AEM brand filters on them now (instead of K&N filters)...... just a little FYI....

I'll never own a cheap airfilter... they suck... the filter that came with my cosmo intake and I had to silicone it back together... so I bought a new ghetto intake for my ecotec from makoto auto trends that comes with a real k&n filter.
