ok i am sure this has been gone over before but i cant recall. well i replaced my stock cat do to it getting stopped up when my ignition took a crap on me... well i replaced it with a 2.25 inch in an dout magnaflow highflow and now guess what i got a check engine light for catalist effeciency below threshold... the same code for when my cat went out. well i watched the sensor data and both the 1st sensor and 2nd sensor voltage was changing at te same time and the valuse were pretty close to the same so i knwo the sensor is working... what do you think is wrong..... thanks

That's a common problem with the magnaflow OBD2 cats. Here's how to fix it:

Go to autozone, advance auto, Pep boys, where ever. You need HELP! 18mm spark plug antifoule (part number 42002). 2 come in a package. You will notice that they have small holes in them. On one of these drill that out with a 1/2 drill bit, maybe one size bigger. You need to be able to screw your O2 sensor into it. I recommend unscrewing your rear o2 sensor, and making sure if fits. Once you have the whole drilled out screw the sensor into that one, then screw the sensor and anti fouler into the other anti fouler (this one you DO NOT drill out)., screw the whole thing back into your exhaust. Then, reset your ECU. That will take care of your code. Now and in the future

Here a few pics to show what I'm talking about:

check your O2 sensor at the manifold too since your ignition was your first problem. it may need cleaned or replaced. i don't have my book with my but i think if your system went too rich (and clogged your cat) then the first O2 should be ashy or white and crusty.

and thanks to Bob (Thanks Bob) I will not have that problem when i get my exhaust done since i just happen to have that cat lying in wait.

do you have the smaller, cheaper version (commonly found on ebay), or do you have the longer 94035 version?

thats your problem, you got the shorter 12" version. you would need to buy a new one (16" version, # 94035) and then it should go away. i have a pacesetter header and 94035 and no codes for me

I had the same code coming on while trying to us the o2 simulator from rk sports after messing with it for a few weeks I desided to just replace the o2 sensor in the header and hooked the original o2 sensor in the cat back up disconected the battery for about an hour then hooked the battery back up and have not had the cel back on since and that was 3 or 4 months ago

I've got a pacesetter armor coated header with the 94035 cat and still got the catalist effeciency below threshold code about every 2 months. I dunno, guess my car is just picky...
