i dont which forum to post this in, but it has to do with my engine and stuff so its here, anyways im planning on boosting and i have a/c, well i dont use it, i dont plan on using it and i wanna take it out, how do i go about properly taking out the whole assembly, im gonna buy that a/c idler pulley as well so i can drop out the condenser as well, anyways i wanna remove the lines, tank, condenser and w/e else needs to come out,
i was screwing round with my parts car and well i took the a.c line off the tank, well it scared the hell outta me LMAO is there a way to drain it properly, or will i have to have a garage drain it out for me, it never worked and was empty so cant be much in there,
i dont know if im gonna get flamed or w/e for this,, can letting the gases out into the enviroment actually hurt nething? like im pretty sure with all the factorys, that gas isnt the biggest of worrys, especially outdoors, not to mention im pretty sure its basically empty, ANYWAYS how do i go about this, thank you very much for any help!
or is there anyway to take the whole thing out wth all lines still intact?
@!#$ yuppies like you destroy the ozone. And freeze their fingers off. You're lucky there wasn't a full charge. Anyways if it's the 97 cavi you released freon out of, it shouldn't be too bad. R-12 is really bad for the ozone. R-134a (what your car has) is less of a problem.
Take it to a place that can recover freon.
Really, only the people that have there epa 609 cert. can repair and recharge a/c systems.
yep im the yuppie, and yes the its the 97 cav, ill see about having it emptied, now anyone on actually removing the assembly? im sure the thing has got some weight to it as well, so nother good thing for performance when im boosted
i did mine on my 97 z24.....i evactuated all the freon....then i removed the compressor, condensor, lines, reciever/drier and the evap.........as far as delete pulley i didnt use one.....since i work at an auto shop i had my local supplier send me a few pulleys (different in size) and belts.....i played around with some ideas beacuse i knew i was gonna do it one way or another.....i upped the pulley size on the tensioner from 90mm to 100mm and the shrunk the belt....i forget what the belt size and number was...Ill have to get back to you on that....i use the tensioner as an idler the belt goes around the other side of the tensioer......so when you put a belt on you have to turn the motor over by hand and walk the belt aound the balancer.... ie:when your bike chain falls off and you have to walk the bike to get it back on...i have no tension issues or charging system issues.....: ill get you some pics too

Its kind hard to see here....i have the car apart and took the best pic i could.....the belt wraps around the balancer and the alternator pulley and then goes around the left side of the smooth tensioner pulley.... i use the tensioner for a stationary idler that is all...i use it backwards
