ok i put my ho manifold in. and ever thing is hooked up it runs and drives. but when iam idling and rev it to about 2500 it will drop down to 600 or 700 rpm and almost dies then revs it self up a lil then drops down agane and almost dies. i have no clue what it could be . please help thanks
what sensor and TB combo did you use.
Sounds to me like an IAC sensor issue. If you used the 2.3 TB use the 2.3 IAC valve or it will not ever be right, if you used the 2.3 valve get a new one.
Make 100% sure there isnt a vaccuum leak newhere as well.
yes check to see what codes were thrown if any, when i swaped mine i threw a few codes, i had the same @!#$ty idle you are describing, i cleared my codes and the car ran great after the codes were cleared
Reset your IAC. It's been a while since I've done it...
Turn to key to the on position but don't start the car. wait about 15 seconds. turn it off.. wait 15 seconds. repeat for 3 times I believe?
on the last time turn the car on.
Someone correct me I know my explanation is totally wrong.
i have the ho manifold and i used the stock 2.4l t/b and am i spose to plug my egr with a 97 z24 with a man trans?????? cuz i did could that be a prob????
if your EGR is unplugged there is probably a code stored and causing your car to go into "limp mode"
how do i get it out of limp mode? or is it just the turn key on 15 sec then off 15sec 3 times????????
the turn key off thing is to reset the iat sensor.
you need to hook it up to a code reader and clear te code to get it out of limp mode
I never did get the 2.3L TB to work on mine. It did the EXACT same thing. I just stuck with the 2.4L TB. But my guess would be that my IAC was shot. It didn't look too hot. Get a new IAC for the 2.3L and try that.

im in the process of doing mine as well...i also have a 97 z24 ...but i heard if you use the 2.3 TB then you should use the 2.4 IAC with the 2.3 IAC plunger...is this correct or you just use a 2.3 IAC with the stock wiring harness....
...
if you're using the 2.3 TB use the 2.3 sensors. They should plug in with the 2.4 harness
if you're using the 2.4's TB well.. that should be obvious then.
