last summer i got a short air intake kit off of ebay for real cheap for my car came with tube and mounting brackets and some cheap filter i used the filter for awhile and then i got a K&N filter for it but i never mounted my air temperature sensor inside the air tube there wasn't like a place to do it and i use hose clamps and a steel bracket mounting on outside of the air tube .... at first i didn't have right hose clamps so i put it right outside of the air filter and then i put back towards middle of the air tube but it doesn't work half the time and make the check engine light come on (at least when i get it checked the code that comes up is for that sensor)
any ideas?
should it be inside of the air tube?
maybe the sensor plug is not working ...?
help!?
yeah it needs to be in the tube...just drill a hole, buy a grommet and put the sensor in there

where do i get the gromet i need?
thanks alot
i already bought a new sensor to use after i mount it again the right way
hardware store like Home Depot. They have them by the millions in all sizes.
Matt-
Bring the sensor with you to the store, but remember: when you're testing gromets out, even if it fits, if the gromet stretches TOO much, it won't work. Once the gromet is in the tube, the surrounding metal won't ALLOW it to stretch (if that makes sense.) The hole you'll need to drill in the tube is 5/8" and is normally a custom bit.
