Should i go with the Magnaflow 94035, or for a more expensive model ive seen which is OBD2 compliant. Although i dont have a clue what OBD2 is. can someone explain to me what the hype is about the Magnaflow 94035, and what is OBD2. thx

obd2- on board diagnostic. if you have a 96 or newer car, you have obd2. when people refer to it being compliant, they are saying it wont throw the trouble codes picked up by your car's obd2. (i.e. faulty 02 sensor number 2). 94035 IS obd2 compliant. i have one, no codes.

I heard the 94035 was the only hi-flow cat that DOESN'T throw codes on our cars and therefor IS OBDII compliant...

^^^thats pretty much the concensus. Some people have had luck with other cats too. I guess its really just a hit or miss when it comes to our cars. I too have the 94035 and haven't had an inefficient catalyst code pop up.

the 9 series cats are all ODB-II compliant, and I think they're also CARB compliant. you'd have to check the website.
the 35 at the end signifies the 2 1/4" in/out diameter.
I have a 91035, and no codes after a week.

^^^Yes they are CARB certified, but not for our cars.

OK, so 94035 is 2-1/4" in/out, and doesn't throw codes. Then theres 94034, which is the exact same thing, but it's 2" in/out. Can anyone vouch for it's ability to not throw codes just like the 94035? Can't imagine it would be too much different, but you never know.

Asking because my DC Sports header uses a 2" OD pipe w/ a bung for O2 to replace the entire converter section, and I'd rather use the 2" 94034 converter since it would be a perfect fit on that pipe as opposed to the 2-1/4" 94035.

yeah, all the 94--- series cats are OBD-2 compliant and won't throw codes on our cars. I was told by the owner of a local muffler shop that its a good idea to have the cat and o2 sensor has to be as close to the stock location as possible.

well, I'll be putting on my Pacesetter piping, Flowtech resonator and Magnaflow muffler/tip this weekend. I'll let ya'll know how it goes with the 91035 cat I have.
I'd like to ask Magnaflow what the difference is between the 94035 and 91035 cats are.

The 91--- cats are 3 inches shorter than the 94--- cats. You may still not throw a code considering its still an OBD-2 compliant converter.
