ok so I searched tried all the results I asked a few people and even made a topic and asked it as a side q'
well now its up to bat on my MS install and I need to know.
where is the Tach sig on the eco? people say pin 10 on the harness I checked the pcm layout on the ne sight. didnt match. I did however get one wire to show some life but nothing matching. please help?

I know it is not pin 10 on the ecotec because thats for the 2.4 and 2.2 ohv. I would try the purple/white wire coming out of the ignition control module which is the ref. signal going to the PCM. I think this is what controls the fuel and spark on the stock pcm.
Ive tried the purple and white wires coming off the idi. nothing.

The crankshaft position sensor is a VR sensor so if your megasquirt is already hooked up for a VR than you should get some type of reading. It should be a purple wire.
I know this is a pain in the a$$ I can't figure it out either. Did you try the white wire on the icm yet.
the last i knew, it was the pink wire coming out of the ICM
but keep in mind... that wire will only show half the rpm considering the there's two coil packs
looking at the wiring diagram ,you should be able to hook it up to the white or orange wire coming off the ICM, on pcm pin #19 white pin#20 orange.
On icm
pink -12v
blk -ground
brn/wht -cmp sensor
white-ic timming ctrl
orange-ic timming ctrl
ps. if it blows up .....
