Hello all I want to install Autometer electric oil pressure & oil temp gauges in my 2000 Z24. Is there anywhere on the block that I can just screw the pressure sender into and where's the best location for the oil temp gauge sender to be mounted, thanks.
2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.
some people will say tap the block since that is the best, but
whats easy and works is where the stock sender is
iirc you need about a 2.5" brass extension and a brass tee fitting.
gauge should have an adapter to go to from 1/4" to 3/8" already, if not you'll need that and teflon tape. enjoy

Thanks Jason but I swear I saw a post about this and the person initially put the sender in as you described but after awhile from the weight of the sender and the engine vbrations the brass tube or tee cracked and started leaking oil. I just can't remember where I saw it, but the person that did it had pics and showed where he didn't have to tap the block at all he removed a plug from somewhere on the block and the sender just screwed right in.

Incorrect. I have put mine in on 2 different cars of my own with no problems. You also do not have to T off to put the stock sender in as well. There is some locations on the back of the block, bt they are harder to get to.
so oil temp can also be put into that oil area?
That's exactly the post I was talking about thanks Inari.

I tapped a T into where the stock sensor is and it's been fine for me for a while now.

yeah, that was the post I made. Apparently Autometer has made the sender smaller and lighter than the one I was using, which could make it safer to mount it the way I originally did. I really should have taken pics when I installed it again under the waterpump.
There is a plug in the block below the waterpump, that points downwards at a 45* angle that can be used.
Here's the thread with pics. Using this you can run a braided line to the sender, and mount the sender remotely so that vibrations dont harm it.
