I am doing a custom axle back tommorow, tried searching for the stock diameter so i could get the proper muffler size. What is it?

riiiiiiiiight. that's why everyone wants to enlarge their catbacks to 2.25". it's 2" (correct answer)

Close enough to 2" mr smart ass lol

So what would be the best muffler diameter to buy to weld to my axle-back stock section (that i will cut from my muffler and weld onto the new muffler)?
I know it should be offset on the axle back side, as the stock one is, i simply want to know what size diameter openings i should get on my new muffler. Should I get one thats close to the stock pipe diameter, or should I get one thats larger to I can put a nicer tip on the opposite end, and simply weld in an adapter to fix the size change on the axle back side?
the best configuration to make "power" without forced induction is 2.25" header back and a 2.25" muffler.

actually, its both. or you're all wrong.
the pipe is 2" and 1 7/8". but those numbers are outer/inner diameters. soooo just get a 2" muffler and call it a day lol. in the end whoever welds it for you will just put a pipe to fit over it anyway as a joint.

So I presume, 2" is the outer diameter in which is used to characterize every other exhaust pipe.

before the cat outside is around 1.6 inches
inside diamter is around 1.471 inches.
entire write up.

after the cat the inner is 1 and 7/8ths inner and 2 inch roughly on the outer, the wall thickness is around .125
most aftermarket stuff is in referal to the inner diameter of the pipe, so if you get 2 inch pipe from almost anywhere aftermarket, it should be by the inside measurement.
My 2003 Cavi with the Eco is 1.978 OD, from before the cat to the muffler inlet.
I installed a Pace Setter Ceramic header, and removed the resonator too.
Used a 2" tube to replace the resonator.
Most performance mufflers are 2.25 or bigger on the inlet, but if you insist on using the stock pipe, just go down to the local parts store and get a 2"-2.25" expansion fitting and a couple clamps. All of it will maybe be ten bucks. Or the hard way would be to cut the inlet flange on the muffler so it can be compressed and clamp the snot out of it.
