2.3 manifold, 2.4 tb

OK, finally, after 3 years of putting it off, my manifold is almost ready to go on the car. Almost. I would really like to keep my cruise control though, so....

I want to take the 2.4 tb, have a machine shop bore it out to 56mm, and use the plate from a 2.3 tb. I know this is a bad idea and won't work and is probably more expensive than having a new bracket fabricated (even if I do this, there's no place to attach a cruise control cable....), but why else shouldn't I do this? I know there are other reasons, but I can't seem to think of them.

The TB will still attach to the manifold with two screws, so that's covered. (I'm hoping no vacuum leaks). Is it because the wheel for the throttle cable won't go back on? What am I missing?

Also, is there room for the EGR to stay in place, or does the manifold hit it? I might get something fabbed up to fix this problem as well... Ideally, I would like everything to work properly, with no CEL's.

Hope that makes sense, and thanks for the replies.

The manifold gets in the way. But i have fabbed something up to keep the EGR (first person that i know of who has done it)

I wouldn't think it would be too hard. I have the blockoff plate. Just get a small piece of flexpipe or whatever change the angle, and then make another one to go to the manifold. Machine shop should be able to do it for cheap. I'm still brainstorming about the TB. Cables might not be long enough, but that's all I can think of.
