Just wondering if a header and intake is even worth the money an bother on a 2.2 will i notice anything if so what size exhaust? 2.25?
You will notice a little more power on the butt dyno but nothing will blow you away. If you want the parts but not the whole in the wallet, just get a cheap intake and a pace setter...and yea 2.25 inch exhaust piping.
for about 5-10 hp, intake, header, high flow cat, 18"+ resonator, muffler. all with 2.25" piping from the header back. ballpark 5-8hp, but its gonna vary. intake is the cheapest and easiest to install.

You have a GTP, Why are you worried about making you 2.2ohv more powerful? I would spend the money for th L67.

daily driver so i was hoping for a lil performance the gtp is fast now... and its winter so its off the road and i'm getting the itch!
haha gottcha, I would still save it and put it towards the gtp. If I had a gtp the cav would be a daily driver also, but I wouldn't put a dime into it to make it faster.

put the 3800 in your cavalier. then you'll have a built 3800, and a fast cavalier. weeeeeeerd up lol
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
ronus20 said he felt little to no difference, just louder. he had a 2000 cavy with the 2200engine and 4speed automatic. he installed the AEM intake, pacesetter 421 (i think), and a custom exhaust.
in my opinion, 5-10 extra HP on a 105HP car is kinda of a waste of money. figure a good intake is 200 bucks, header is 200 bucks, and an exhaust is anywhere from 200 to 400. so you're spending between 500-800 for a few extra horsepower that you'll barely notice. i don't see the point personally...
GO PATS!!!
thanks all so she stays bone stock! unless i can find a great deal on a turbo
I just put an ebay intake on my 98 cav, and while she's not faster, the response is noticably better. I payed $30 shipped so it was worth it to me, course it wasn't for my car and I had to rig it to fit, but it was easy.
i just put a high flow cat and 2.25 pipes and a muffler and a intake on my car and you can def feel a difforence in it. its a 02 2200 4 speed auto. i dont no why everyone makes fun of the 2200 motor for it being "slow" its got more power then the older civic and the 2.0 motors in the jetta and golfs.
01 what about gas mileage? as thats what i bought this car for? with my truck getting 12 mpg i'm lookin for something alo better on gas! also i figured a header an intake might help that a lil but i'm not no expert especially on these engines
i got a non eco 2.2 pacesetter header and a high flow cat sitting do iny nothing pm let me now where you loacted i will make you a good deal,
