Ok guys... I've got an 04 Sunfire automatic. Got the Magnaflow 2.25 cat-back installed and have driven it a while... I have noticed that when I hit a few bumps or humps in the road I hear a rubbing sound or a hiting of the exhaust pipe somewhere. Well I checked it out and there are some rub marks right above the rear axle on the exhaust piping. I felt around and jiggled some different parts of the exhaust piping... everything seems to be right where it should be (nothings loose). I'm wondering if the piping just wasn't bent enough or if I can raise it up alittle so it wont rub anymore? Also wondering if having stock cat is a part in this for some reason....Yes I know I'm getting hi-flow cat shortly....
Also got the pacesetter header installed and now at iddling when the motors cold or just very low rpms I hear a rattling coming from sounds like it could be from the header I'm not sure. I've read that the bolts can become loose after install... Could this be the problem?
Sorry for all the questions, but this whole exhaust thing is starting to bug me.....
I love the sound of the Magnaflow exhaust and pacesetter duo... Not to loud and sounds very good...

I have the same issue with noise making and rattling but it's something that kind of comes with the territory. Unless you have something really loose and can fix it, I'm not sure how you will stop that noise.
Also, when your motor is cold and at idle, it revs higher. The higher it revs, the more exhaust flow and motion from your motor. The motion will probably shake your exhaust system a bit more than it would when it's idling lower. I know for my car that when I start it up it revs at 1100 RPMs and when it's completely warm, it idles at 600 RPMs. At 600 RPMs, you don't hear anything rattling or shaking.
To add, my exhaust system is bigger than yours (2 1/2") and I've had it checked it's as stiff as it's going to get.
If anything, take it back to the exhaust shop and see if there are any areas that can be welded or clamped to make it tighter on noise.

Thats what I was thinking. I'm not at all impressed with the hangars, so check them to see if everything's in order.
With the rattling from header, it's worth you time to check the bolts all around anyway (from the motor all the way to your cat-back) because when the metal heats up and cools down over and over again as you drive the car, it also expands and contracts frequently, which creates slack and loosens the areas where you bolted things together. Most folks call it a "heat cycle". So yes, check all the bolts and retighten them.
I had the header rattling problem with my DC Sports header, and turns out that where the pipe goes under the firewall where the a heat shield is, the pipe rattles on that heat shield. I just crawled under there and bent the shield out of the way with some pliers, problem solved.
Try this stuff out, and let us know what happens.

the cat back you can twist and move around to gain some extra room , but if the exhaust was done with Uclamps instead of band clamps , it makes it harder to do once they have been tightened up
