GM Performance Adjustable Cam Gear Set
88958613 Adjustable Cam Gear Set
This adjustable camshaft gear set allows valve timing to be advanced or retarded up to 16 degrees of crankshaft rotation. Set includes both intake and exhaust camshaft gears.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
Yeah the only ones are by GM.
From my research, they aren't necessary. Our cam timing is about dead on.

Then why would GM make an adjustable one? Just givin ya @!#$ bro.

By the way, research was also based off someone who had a fully rebuilt ECOTEC motor and he had dyno tuned adjusting the cam timing...he said that stock timing was just about the best timing.

It may be best for your buddies application, but every one may be different.
It really depends on what mods you have.
I, personally, like to overcam a bit, by about 5-10 degrees duration, then bring back the intake centerline to about 106 degrees.
It works for me.
what about retarding it for for boosting? sounds helpfull for a dyno session

I know retarding ignition timing with high PSI numbers helps but not sure about cam timing.

Retarding ignition timing under boost conditions is only done to avoid detonation, and is bad for performance.
Why would you want to retard your cam timing?

Yeah, I know they do it to prevent dtonation.
