I have a 99 2.2 auto. It has a Cracked block.. So the motor is coming out. What i wanna know is can i bolt a 2.4 in? what do i need off the donor car? does it have to be outta a Cavalier? or can i get it outta a Grand am? Please lemme know people or point me in the right direction please? Oh an thanks ahead of time

ideally... tranny,engine(alt,water pump etc),ecu,rad hoses.cool res,upper mount,engine harness...and speedo with tach...

No it doesn't have to be out of a cavalier, it can be out of a sunfire, grand am, alero, malibu or whatever.. My 2.4 that im swappin in came out of a 99 malibu.

can i use my factory transmission? and if not does the auto transmission bolt in? i don't feel like messing with the console pedals an all that nonsense on this car...

yeah i heard it will bolt up if you cut off the bell housing.

if i cut off the bell housing? that doesnt sound like a very good idea as the engine an torque converter gotta be to pretty close specs.. unless it unbolts i need some people that have been there done that!
