EGR and HO manifold, Together at last
Friday, January 13, 2006 6:04 PM
Well I got the EGR on my car with the HO manifold on. Its not the prettiest setup, but its growning on me, ill probably take the EGR mount off and paint it black, and maybe the bottom part of the EGR. Anyways here it is (sorry it was dark out)

Ooo....Nice. How did you get it to fit? Does it clear the code? How did you do it?.....INFO!!!

Please do tell what you did to mount it and if it is throwing any codes or not. Do you have any daytime pics?

Its a secret............

But basicly we made an extention to to bolt up to the stock mount in that location, after that lengthened the wires to reach the EGR, then cut the flex hose and weled it to the pipe and put it into that hole on the manifold. The EGR and itself come really close to the sensors on the TB, but since its so far away from the stock location, only about half the extention pipe gets hot, and the rest is cool to the touch.

my egr ho intake is factory , and would look alot cleaner

but great job on doing what no one else was willing to do

I wanted to tap into the bottom like the "holy grail", but since the EGR mount is cast iron we couldnt weld it, and had to get it to fit the best we could in the engine bay. Although im still thinking about an idea for a custom mount and mounting it alitte more out of sight. but for right now, it will get me to pass inspection next month.

i knew it could be done. but lots of custom work.

too much work for me.

i will just clear the code each time i start the car. Plus i dont think it would be a good idea running exhuast gases through the s/.c

i still want to check out a GTP s/c up close and see how that is done.

anyways, nice work!

A close up look at the extention. Im thinking about reworking the design, and maybe selling the mounts. Anyone interested.

you forgot to hook up the return line clamp , LOL

as long as it works

What return line? on the stock setup the mount bolts right to the head, then the hose connects to the manifold, just like i have it, with that extention pipe to mount it where it is.

in that pic you can see the clamp that holds the return line , its not bolted down

its just under the nut for the inlet line

you didnt get it bolted down with the last intake bolt

How much would you make me one for??? I think that is a GREAT idea. I'm glad to see that someone actually appied themselves and took the intake swap a step further and actually done it right! Good mod! Let me know if you are going to make them to sell the general public (or you can just make me one for a good price lol). Keep me up to fate on what is going on and please inform me if you are going to mass produce them or not!!!

id consider offers on the factory egr HO intake ive got , it has a really long tube for the egr

it might be easier to modify than the stock 96-98 egr tube , as well as hide the tube , since it goes in the bottom

For the hose, we cut the the stock EGR hose shorter, then welded it to a peice of pipe that had threads on the other end, and then just threaded it into the hole.
