i have a buddy who has a s 10 with the 2.2 motor in it, i was just wodnering if the 2.2 in the cav and the 2.2 in the s-10 was the same and if things like engine internails and thorttle bodies and stuff were universal

Basically the block, head and internals are the same (except for the head gasket), but the difference comes from the external parts. The intake is of similar design, but won't fit in a J-body. The water / EGR manifold is differnt and mounts on the oppisite end of the head, so if you use an S-10 head make sure you change that, install the plug in the oppisite end of the head and remove the plug in the other end. the head gasket is also different, because of the different cooling system. The steam holes in the HG are set up for cooling in the oppisite direction.
