Step by step guide to installing the AEM Cold air intake on a 98+ 2200 ln2.
Items included with intake should be...
Step 1: Disconnect your cars battery and remove from engine bay.
Step 2: Remove you factory airbox, expansion box (says 2200 on it), bong in dirver side fender, air tube with IAT sensor, and strut tower brace equipped.
Step 3: Remove tab from underhood fuse box and place fuse box out of your way (tab is no longer needed).
Step 4: Install supplied bolt and washer in the inside wall of fender.
Step 5: Install METAL spacer and place shorter intake tube into the hole left by the stock air box, Secure with nut and washer.
Step 6: Place supplied rubber hump hose onto your throttle body and secure with supplied clamp.
Step 7: Install rubber grommet into hole on the side of the larger intake tube. Install the unpluged IAT sensor into the grommet.
Step 8: Install final rubber boot onto the end of the smaller intake tube and secure with supplied clamp.
Step 9: Install the larger intake tube into the rubber boot on the end of the smaller tube and the hump hose on the throttle body.
Step 10: Place rubber spacer in tab hole that holds the fuse box on, secure with supplied nuts and washers.
Step 11: install the supplied breather hose from the rocker cover to the inlet on the side of the intake.
Step 12: Use supplied zip-ties to route throttle cable and cruise control cable (if cruise is avaliable) to top of the intake.
Step 13: Install the supplied AEM air filter to the end of the smaller tube located in the inner fender.
Step 14: Reinstall battery and IAT sensor connector.

yea it was 30 outside so i did it in the garage

yeah 1 of the guys here got the aem also , and had a mickey mouse made 1 before that was quite , and said he notised a nice difference in performance and sound with the aem

I liked this intake when it was on my car. I didn't have the new filter on it obviously though because I got the intake about 2 years ago.

looks like the filter is sittin right behind your light in the one pic...or did u just slide it in the hole and it sits in fender? awesome write up by the way.....maybe this should be a sticky!

the filter sits just behind and below the corner light.
so do you need to take off wheel like ppl say? or can you do it w/o takin it off? just curious cuz i am thinkin bout gettin this intake.....also...you get the CEL like everyone else apparently

I dont have a CEL from the intake, I do from a crappy Catco converter though.
I did not remove the rim, or the inner fender. I only removed the corner light, But the directions do say to do so that come from AEM, they even say to remove the washer bottle during the install but I didnt do that either.

I remember them being out.
Never realized about the fenderwell area though.
