a question of Brands

Does brand name matter in parts such as headers, intakes, and motor mounts

The rksport and carcustoms motor mounts are both around 60 dollars
What brand and type of headers should i go with?

i love AEM as far as intakes. I went from an RSM warm air, to an Induction Dynamics cold air, finaly an AEM cold air and the AEM produced far better results.

Yes and No.

Being that we don't have many options to being with, we don't always go with big brand name companies cause they don't offer us parts (example: Greddy, Apexi etc).

My suggestion about buying parts is to stick with more "popular" products that you know other people have used and like, know that it fits properly and know that there is no problems with it in the long run.

As far as motor mounts, any motor mounts you see are made by Prothane but just sold by different companies at their prices. Best deal you can get is from www.carcustoms.net. Intake...check out Weapon-R intakes at www.definedparts.com.

Some people will say a intake is an intake, there all just piping with a filter on it.

True but theres more to it, A cheap ebay intake (or no name) might have really bad fitment. And the filters on them suck bad. A good intake company like AEM and K&N will have perfect fitment and great filters.

Granted its cheaper to buy a ebay intake and put a K&N filter on the end but you dont have any way of knowing it will fit right the first time.

As for a header, stick with proven products, such as Pacesetter and Weapon R. Jsut make sure the header you get is coated in some way to prevent rust.

well from my experience, the AEM intakes are second to none, and the fitment is excellent, and i didnt mind paying a little extra for it to fit right. motor mounts, it doesnt really matter what ones u get. for header, i got the Pacesetter armor coat header for x-mas, and i feel that it is of excellent quality. like said before, get the ceramic one, it wont rust and will reduce under hood temps.
