wondering
Tuesday, January 10, 2006 12:20 AM
for those of you with the LD9 BUILT, I was wondering what internals you used? and vavletrain specs and stuff.....i would just like to compare it with what I am planning on getting.....this will be for about 15 lbs of boost and a 100 shot......

9:1 compression pistons be okay?
block bored 20 over
1mm oversized ss valves
eagle h-beam rods
JBP lifters guides valve springs/valves
ARP studs

still collecting items too lol.....

on to the questions....
CAMS......I would like your guys input.....2.3 or JBP?
OIL SYSTEM.....2.3 or get the JBP hi-pressure pump and neutralize the balance shafts?
INJECTORS....I am planning on just under 400hp/tq, would the rc 550's be good? i mean i can always turn them down at idle and stuff.....

i am sure i will have more lol...just kinda tired right now...

and this will be my d.d.....but all it need to do is get me places.....i could care less about driveability........no a/c no problem lol.....hard starts i dont care lol....

THANK YOU!!!

The Motor idea sounds fine except you're missing the headgasket...get a Cometic MLS Head Gasket. Also, you're getting 9:1 comp .020 overbore pistons and not just boring the block, correct?

Cams...I know people are using the secret cams on boost and have no issues, not sure as far as which is better though. If you want, you can inquire JBP about thier camshafts for boost applications.

Now my question is how are you going to reach 15 lbs...I thought the upgrade pulley was good for 10-11 psi? Maybe I'm off I guess. Also, you're going to need a good fuel management system to sudden drop a 100 shot of nitrous into your motor while already under boost. Check into NX Express...they have a ton of products to control how much you spray at certain areas of your powerband etc. How were you planning on hooking up this nitrous setup?

yea im getting the 20 over pistons too lol....

yea the limits on the m45 are roughly 10-12psi, but with the m62 its around 15psi....

nitrous would be direct port in the s/c runners....

i was planning on using megasquirt-II to control fuel/timing whatever else.....

thanks man, i can always count on you to help me out lol....

Keep us updated. I've got an '02 Z that I would like to get around 320 whp, but I want to try and keep the reliability as much as possible.

You know what...I knew you were gonna say that you wanted to put in the M62 lol
I also had a feeling you were doing a direct port setup as well lol

It's no problem, I'm always around to help as much as I can.

LOL That's the point...you shouldn't replace anything with stock parts, always aftermarket and stronger parts. You should know that by now
