I've remember a thread while back that no one has tried the stage III cams for Eco's from JBP.. well I'm updating and has anyone? I just ordered them but I have to send them my core so I still have to wait awhile.
But yeah, has anyone bought them yet and used them? I just want to know what to expect, performance and maintence wise. I heard Stage II threw out a lot of codes but JBP says Stage III is code free and gains from 19-23whp. I just want to make sure those facts are correct from experience.

Good luck. My only advice is don't expect the gainst they are advertising.

i have the stage II JBP s/c grind cams (got them custom grinded for my gm charger) and i still need to install them. they said something like 19-32hp or so off the top of my head but im in no means expecting all that, they said they should illiminate the top end lag that i have around 70mph-100+ so we will see.
i hope it works out wiht the stage 3s. i had stage 2s and my computer went nuts on me for a while then chilled out when i did my header and exhuast. then the codes stopped but the stalling continued.

19-23 whp my left testicle, I tested these cams, actually mine were like a stage 4. I lost 3 whp and 21 tq from my previous NA dyno with these in. I then went to the LZM stage 1 cams and gained the 21tq back and 6 more and 8 whp... cams arent worth it on our cars....

sorry dude.. I have been through a total of 3 set's of cams. if you want any kind of gains I suggest the LZM Stage 1 cams or JBP Stage 1 cams they are similiar, I believe njhk has the Stage 1's.

Yes, I have the JBP Stage 1

the thing with the cams on our cars is they need ALOT of supporting mods to really notice them i.e. P&P header exhaust TB etc. and yes it will raise the power band but i will highly suggest against using the 62mm TB till you get the head work done it will hurt your 1/4 time i know this personally i was running a 16.2 with a 62mm TB and stage 2 cams and then after i went back to the stock TB im running a 15.8 both times were with the header and exhaust included. and to go along with what QBE said the cams are hard to cause our ECU is so limited to accepting mods and they require some retuning ECU wise to get the most out off them
ive no problems with my JBP stage 2 cams btw all i did was run 90 octane all the time and ever since i dont see codes except in the winter when its really cold and then its actually misfiring you can hear it and i think thats cause its running like 13.3:1 a/f ratio at start up
jut my .02 not trying to say anyones wrong hope the stage 3's work out for you

i was the one who first posted about these cams for the ecotec guys. i saw the test car idle and it never through codes. i dont know about power gains, but they are trustworthy guys.

GG
DAMNIT
LOL! No worries, happens to the best of us. You never know, they may be fine. Might lose low-end like QBE (73H 800573D 0N3), but definitely shift power-band way up higher.
i would suggest FOR the TB my TB helped me racing wise...

"FOR the TB"?
I just got my throttle body but my car is at the shop. I'm sending the cams tomorow (overnight shipping) and asking them to send my stage III cams overnight as well. Hopefully It'll all be done by saturday.

I thought that stage 2 and up cams would trigger the knock sensor.
Some times the best way to get that tailgater off your but is to light a fart.
Well the website says that stage II does throw codes but the stage III doesn't.. I think they are telling the truth. I just want to see how it is performance wise, I want to see if I get that noticable power I need.

its not all the knock sensor that is bothered by the cams the crank sensor is the main one that sets the P0300 random misfire the knock sensor will just pull timing a little or not let it advance as much as it should

So I was talking with the guy today at JBP and he told me that I was the second person to order the Stage III cams.. I guess I'm the guinea pig in this forum for these cams.

Don't worry I'll post, I shipped today (overnight shipping) and I ordered a 2 day air shipping from them. So I should get them Friday? Install Saturday? Cruise around Saturday night?
Oh but I'm installing my new throttle body with it.. so yeah. But I'll still share what I felt. There's this modded Si that I am head to head with (5sp with bolt-ons), I hope that these cams will help me enough to spank him.. maybe even see his vtec spray in my rear view mirror. I'll share that as well.

I know that colt makes the cams for JBP and I tested Colt's stage 3 cams which were even more aggressive then JBP's stage 3 cams, and like I posted lost 6 whp and a lot of tq.. but of course that was before we knew about the knock sensor trick, msd, and megasquirt, I bet with a few supporting mods they can make decent power. the good thing about these is when I dynod NA I was STILL making power at the rev limiter on the stage 3.5's I tested..

ain't THAT the truth.. our damned crank sensors can actually learn.. there is a relearn procedure for the crank sensor through the tech 2
