I had a check engine light come on and i was told that it was an oxygen sensor. however i have a none stock header on my car and so i was told that i should just get o2 fakeouts?? where could i get a fakeout and is that really the problem?
u have 2 oxygen sensors you have to get the code read to find out which one it is. if it it for the one in the header you probably need a new one. i would get it asap as it will rob your car of its power and waste more gas.
If the code says bank 1 sensor 2 ect. its for the after cat sensor which you could do a sim. for
so you have never heard of needing fakeouts b/c of the aftermarket header? i should just get a new o2 sensor?
ok so i was looking for my o2 sensor and i figured out that i don't think that when new headers were put on that the o2 sensor was put on. is this a problem or will this just give me a check engine light and not cause any real problems?
Ya that's a problem. Are you saying there is an open hole in the header where the O2 sensor would go, or did they put a plug in it? Is the sensor just hanging there in open air, or is it gone altogether?

well i looked all over the header and either they pluged the hole and made the plug flush or the new header didn't have a hole. what problems would it cause to not have a o2 sensor
The engine has no means of telling if it's rich or lean under normal driving conditions (everything but WOT), so it's likely running pig rich as a precautionary measure, which will ruin your fuel economy, rob power, and wreck your catalytic convertor. Get it fixed.
What kind of cheap ass header did you get that doesn't have an O2 bung?

well i still am getting 30MPG... and for my exhaust i have
OBX 4-1 Header

2 1/4 Bent Tubing
Ractive 4.5 straight Cut Tip Muffler

There's always the chance it's running really lean then, bad news for you. I havn't seen any pics of the OBX header, but if you can find one it would make it alot easier to find the O2 bung, I'm sure there has to be one as ALL fuel injected cars need at least one to monitor AF ratios under normal driving.

well i know that there is an O2 sensor down by the Cat... however i'm not sure what that regulates... but i know i'm supposed to have two o2 sensors
