Heat resistant paint on intake! HELP

I have here a BOMZ Short Ram air intake off ebay. Just a simple aluminum tube....I heard that If I coat the tube with Heat resistant paint, it would cool things down and increase performance....Is this worth it? If so how do i apply the paint to the aluminunm tubing? Sand it?

I don't know where you heard that from..... its not going to accomplish anything but make it look pretty.

i sprayed my cheap ebay aluminum piping with the duplex hi-temp paint, like 2-3 coats. it didnt really do or help in the increase of hp but it was always warm to the touch when i would open the hood after driving it for a while rather when it was not painted and it was slightly hot. it was more for looks i guess and i had some left over after spraying my header and cat.
