I've read the posts on the install of the S-AFC 2 and the posts on the 330 ohm resistor trick...the S-AFC2 is installed and the resistor too (330 Ohm) because I was getting the P0107 low voltage code...
Now, I'm getting the low voltage code and the "system rich (bank 1)" code since having the resistor intalled...so I still have the code and the resistor is now making me rich?...
I've tried searching for more posts on this but have had no luck...
Anybody have any suggestions?
This and the timing tensioner problems I'm having (see post in Maintenance Forum) are making me want to blow up my damn car!
Thanks

You're now running a rich code because you're resistor is sending a signal which will result in more fuel. Your SAFC is like a resistor itself except it's electronically controlled. When you turn the fuel down or up, you're changing the voltage. Now with that said, throwing an resistor is going to up the fuel...hence why you are running a rich code.
Now what you have to do is now tune according to the resistor on top of your own tune from before (Example: +10 before may now really be +20, so you have to turn it down by 10).
Honestly, that low voltage code is nothing to worry about. It goes away in seconds of driving and doesn't effect your performance whatsoever.

the resistor is wired in between the gray and green wires...just like the diagram in the post and boost faq
the reason i need the codes to go away is because it won't pass emissions (my inspection ran ou t in November!

I guess my real question is:
Is the resistor in the MAP sensor really a fix for the low input code caused by the S-AFC 2 on the ECOTECs?
it hasn't fixed the low input code and its causing my car to run rich...if I retune the AFC I still didn't get rid of the code so there is no point in having the resistor...
There was no follow up from that thread back in the boost forum...no real conclusion made...

Another question: Has anyone ever tried upping the voltage on the S-AFC from 5 in/5 out to something else to compensate for this? -would this work?
anyone? ....should I maybe move this post to the boost forum? (seems like they are the ones using the AFC the most)

Andy Murrell did mine, and it worked fine. Only recently I've had that code come back. Dunno why. I changed my map sensor to one from an Aztek, Andrew Neufang did that on his and it fixed his CEL problems, fixed some of mine too. Also, dunno why.

My code has come back too.
It's time to get a soldering iron.

my code never went away with the resistor...had the 0107 from the start, added the resistor then had the 0107 and the 0170 (too rich)...can anyone verify the settings again for me?...
sensor type: pressure (right?)
in: 5 out: 5 (right?)
thanks for your feedback so far
