I searched and couldnt find what I wanted. Im getting ready to swap a 98 2200 into my 97 ohv. do I need a wiring harness from the 2200 or will my orig harness work(with new injector plugs)? will my orig harness plug into the 2200 ecu without repin? are sunfire and cavalier engine harnesses the same?

Nah you will need the 98 2200 engine wiring harness.

Remember, the 95-97 OHVs use side feed injectors...98-2002 2200s use top feed injectors, different types of injectors, so different harnesses.

Well thats what I was saying, if i get the correct injector plugs will it work? If not, ok ill get the harness. the harness the place has is from a sunfire, are they the same?

Yes you can use the 98 2200 wiring harness from the sunfire.. Its all the same befween the cavs and fires.

Actually you can get just the injector harness from the newer 2200 motor, and hard wire it into your current harness. Everything else will hook up and run. You would need to keep in mind if the new motor has egr or or not. We did a 2001 2200 into a 97 2.2, and used the engine bay wiring from the 97 and hard wired the injector harness from the 2001 motor in.
