ZZ Performance EGR Simulator (found it)
Tuesday, December 20, 2005 1:34 PM
OK so I finally found the EGR simulator that I know a few people are using. ZZ Performance sells it, in their Grand Prix section. http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=176. Now my question is, will this work with the sensor on the 95 2.2 (OBDII)? Thanks

Good question?

Their O2 simulator works, and I highly recommend it for the price! I'm rocking it.

i won't need an o2 sim for a while. I do know that the 3rd gen wiring harness are nearly identical for the most part. so if the sensor plug is the same as the LD9 and the EGR syntax is the same... it should work?

I have a 2k+ 2.4l....no EGR.......but yes, most GM OBDII wiring is the same from what I've found.

I bought one for my car (98 2.4). But I find that the car runs better without it, and just the EGR thingy plugged in and hanging loose. It took too much voltage from the Map sensor on mine, which just pissed the computer off more.

If you wanna try one I got one. $35 shipped.

I told you I had one, if you can make it to St. Joseph some time we can hook it up and see if it works. an hour (more or less) of driving is better than spending $70 for something that you don't know will work.

I sent mine back after I read all the problems people were having with them... Never even opened it.

They're only an hour away from me, though my car would be worthless for EGR testing. I'd be up for some S/C part testing though! As long as something got tossed in for me!

Just curious but what is the point of the EGR delete? Does it increase performance or what? Just wondering if it is worth the money and pain in the ass it is to do it, thanks guys

its not a pain in the ass to install the simulator. it just keeps the check engine light off on the 2.4's when you do the HO mani swap. I hate the way my car runs with a cel. the fans kick on and the hole thing just doesn't feel right, I can feel a big difference in power when it is on also. I've heard that they can pull timeing when a cel comes on, is that true??

i just clear the check engine light everytime i start the car. runs perfect.

sorta annoying, but it takes 30 seconds.

Well I've heard mixed things about the EGR Sim on the LD9, so I bought it from EnviouZ so I'm going to give it a try on the LN2 and see how it does.
