I just bought a 95z24, it has the 2.3l. I searched around and I think I found out that I cant swap a h.o. because mine has an auto trans. Is this correct? If so what can I do to add more performance to the motor. I searched around and stuff, but I didnt understand alot of it. Thanks
I'm not sure if you can swap that motor onto your transmission.

You can use the Ho engine without the Ho intake cam.
You just need to buy a 90-92 Ho and use the 95 intake cam(and housing) and the Ho exhaust cam.

no it's not because you don't have the balance shaft in the Ho like the 95 engine, you have 10:1 compression, a better flowing head and better manifold. It ain't worthless.

so would I see alot of performance improvement? Also, where would I get motor mounts, header, and etc. Most of the places only sell for the 2.2 or 2.4.

i'm not doggin the HO by any means, the point of my post was that it'd be a waste of your time to go through with the swap but leave it automatic.

^^ hes kinda got a point...but like gilles said its still gonna be the better engine...
and jeremy..the same mounts from the 2.4 will work on the 2.3 and as far as "header,etc. " is concerned,you wont need any with the HO...when you see the size of the exhaust manifold youll see why
