i was wondering if i should get a the magnaflow cat converter? what exactly will it do and what kinda gains will i see/ or w/e. i have a 97 cav convertable 2.4l
If you don't have a bigger aftermarket exhaust a high flow alone isn't going to do anything.

yeah what he said basically you need to free up the whole exhaust system to see the improvement, and that improvement is different with every motor, so none can say it will give X amount of power either.
well like i said i have a 2.4l with 41 pacesetter header running 2.25 cat into borla muffler, so will a catylac converter help any and how much if so. or should i just stay with what i got?

You never said that in this post nor is it in your profile. Use a high flow cat with that exhaust, you won't see any gains if you put the header on you stock cat. Why don't you keep that resonator you have, your gunna need it.

why would i need the resonator? i want it loud. so how much better is it using the cat convrt with my exuast set up compared to just my header, 2.25 cat, and muffler?
Its going to be loud and so like sh*t. Raspy and popping. Mine is still loud with my resonator but only at WOT.
I am also using the magnaflow 94035 cat and I would recommend it.

That last question didn't make sence, are you debating you are going to use a cat or not?

ive heard from others that theres isnt that raspy. yes, im debating on whether i should get a cat convert with my exuast setup or will it have lil effect and not worth it.
It will be raspy and even worse without a cat. Not to metion its illegal and harmful to do so. You will not get thru maryland emissions without a cat either unless you run an o2 sim and the shell of the cat. Use a resonator and a cat, thats what I would do. If you do it without the resonator tho, you can add it in later if you don't like the sound, which most people don't.

some raspyness is fine, i dont dislike the sound, i like my stuff loud especially when im on the gas. i got a 25 in resonator but itll probably kill the sound and i want to hear it down the street. alot of peeps in my carclub dont have resonators and they dont sound like crap, we think they sound good. oh well. i guess its preference
Well like I said, what ever you do, use a cat.
What part of MD are you in and what car club? What kind of cars?
