Well I just got my pacesetter ceramic coated header in, and I tried to go find a manifold gasket from Advance Auto parts and Napa and neither had them. How reliable is the gasket that comes with the pacesetter header or could i even use the manifold gasket that is on it right now? I only have 13,000 miles on the car.
if theres nothing wrong with your stock gasket(meaning torn or worn) go for it. i've read others went ahead and upgraded their gasket to a copper(?) type of gasket. im planning on reusing my stock gasket, making it easier when i eventually try to get my 4-1 header on.
yeah i don't mind to reuse my stock gasket its just i'm afraid it would get torn, i'm getting it installed somewhere and they said they owuld probably be able to reuse it i'm just unsure about it....it just sucks that no parts store other than the dealer has the manifold gaskets for the ecotec yet, and i checked with my dealer and it would be next thursday before they could even get one in, and my appointment is tuesday...sux.
wait a bit around for others to post their views. i have the ld9 not the eco, but again i dont think reusing your stock gasket's a problem if its still OK.
I have the pacesetter on my 2.2.. I first used the paper gasket that came with the header and it burnt RIGHT off.. I then went to Napa to get a teflon one and I have been using that now for 2 years. Thats weird Napa didnt have one for you for your Eco.
So yeah, clean your stock gasket real good and try that..

When I upgraded my header, I stayed with stock and no leaks and is working fine. If you do decide to not use your stock gasket, go Felpro all the way.
