Mount Experiences?

I was hoping to get some experiences with motor/tranny mounts. I've heard an equal number of good and bad things. Carcustoms has them for $50. Is this a good buy? and because everyone is going to ask... My Goal: Be quicker than most other cars in my area.

Motor / tranny mounts are a necessary mod for these cars and I often recommend it for the first mod you do.

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

Only good thing to say about motors mounts, it shake a little bit, but you'll get use to it. As long as you don't go WOT at 60 while in 5th gear....

Yes it makes your car shake more since the mounts have a lot less give to them.

Almost necessary if you plan on adding a header at some point.

Karo from CarCustoms is a great person to deal with so I'd say go for it.

I've had mounts in three J's since 2000.... and I wouldn't own another J without having this mod.

Anyone who says they vibrate too much is a wimp

I've also got LOTS of other poly bushings on this vert... I love them all.

^^^ Yep! Must have mod! I've got all poly mounts made I think? Ma ea world of difference in the feel of the car.

Install is pretty straight forward for all of them I think. The rear tranny mount is a bit hard to get to but nothing too hard. The A-arm poly mounts are not bad either once you get the ball joint lose. That was my sticking point anyway.

Sure others can add to that some. I did them with basic hand tools as well, so nothing really special needed although I'm sure it would have been a bit easier with some other things.

you feel the vibs more in an Auto than you do in manual.

Tranny mounts are for manual only everything else will work for both.

Ive got all, but havent installed my rear tranny mount (need to find time on a good enough day), and shifting is tons better, but the vibes are there, you do get used to them though. I happened to drive my stepmom's Honda back at thanksgiving, and noticed how quiet and smooth it felt, then realized how much noise and vibes the mounts make, but worth it to me in the end.
