Yo dude whats up. ok with a grand you can go for a cai and a catback... but not no2 like ive heard^_^. the engine needs some work first. but i hope you get the j(even though its a 3rd gen

P.S im one of L4OHV 93RS friends... maby he has told you about me *eveil laughter.
For a grand.. get cams and headers
Quick and silenced, once you get more money just keep on modding but try to make it silent so after that just work on your engine/internals
Being silent will allow you to bet people for races and they will underestimate you becuase your car won't be loud, make money to make it even more faster
I messed up when I added CAI and a catback first becuase it was loud but not fast

no start wiht ur basically bolt ons intake, full exhaust to get it breathing...then get motor mounts to keep ur motor from moving. and lighter pulley works nice also. once u have u basic bolt ons then think towards head work and cams.

don't give advise unless you actually know what your talking about
personally, id get upper and lower engine mounts, a stage 1 NX nitrous kit and an intake

Would it not be nice to have a silent quick cavi? I would choose that over a loud cavi anyday. Intake and exhaust don't give you much to the wheels, cams will give you a lot of whp and stock ecotec headers are crap, aftermarket headers will be a nice change. Then go with a lighter crank pulley, maybe spark plugs for quicker response, and a bigger throttle body to get more air into your engine.

Darkstars your right i dont know alot about NO2 but thats not my thing. i like makeing power with my hands, not pushing a button. but thats just me. and im not talkin smack... AT ALL. Thats just how i see it.

It is N20, Tow parts nitorgen one part oxygen.
You like making pwoer with your hands. What exactly does that mean. If you mean N02 as Nitrous and think it is as easy as just pushin a button get real. You like makin power with you hands then your finger is attached to your hand. Usually, you use your finger to activate a button. Then you are essentially makin power with your hands. I dont mean to come off as a smart ass, but it takes some know how and wrench time to utilize and safely run a Nitrous kit.

Yeah he said it pretty good himself, element of suprise. If you only did internal work to your engine, you can ask someone to race for money and pop the engine and they will think low of your car becuase they won't find anything. Race them and smoke them, easy money. I wish I did that when I started out. You still have a chance to.

i would peice together my own turbo with a g u should be pretty close
Silver Streak wrote:Also the eco is pretty durable in stock form and shouldn't need any internals unless you are going crazy with the car.
I've seen a stock ecotec motor a 75 shot just fine with some preporation...100 shot had some issues.

a 75 wet shot will be just fine on a stock motor.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
Josh, my advice to you is figure out what kind of power gains you want, do you want to go with forced induction? If you do, save up for it because doing the big modifications first gives you something to work off of. I wish I did it that way sometimes but oh well...
So if you $1,000 now, save it up maybe till $2,000, learn enough about piecing together a turbo setup and then do it that way and you got yourself a fairly new car that is turbo'd and whippin the floor with decent cars out on the streets

I'd say do part by part, so basically save up for a certain part and buy it. You know why? So you can see the differential for every part and how much it changed your car.
