Well i know its not because of the paint peeling off because my is stainless steel. i guess it was exhaust smell but i just went for a little drive and i didnt really smell anything.

the only problem i think now is the ball joint. it sounds like its rattling and i know the bolts are tight under there. it was the same type of sound as when i drove open header to get to the exhaust shop. maybe it could be leaking? the only thing is that maybe where the to pieces connect, that the ball part is slightly turned. it is not perfectly straight on in the joint. when i put it in neutral i dont here the rattling sound. its only when the car is in drive.

Thats becuase it is hitting your subframe connector piece thingy

polyurathane motor mounts will solve it.

nope, got those already and the header is sitting nice and tight.

i guess its just me being paranoid. when you think something is wrong, you believe its broken when in fact its just normal and nothing is wrong with it. ill get under there tomorrow one more time to check the ball joint

I never had any luck with my ball joint on my pacesetter header, I just had a muffler shop weld in a flex pipe and eliminated the bal joint.

did you have to do any further mods to connect your obx header? or was it bolt on?

Mine had a litle bit of a smell for the first few days too. I wouldn't worry about it.

nope, i needed it welded to the cat.

its smells like exhaust if i stick my head under the car by the ball joint. i think exhaust is getting into my car because i was driving and was getting light headed so i opened the windows. i dont think its leaking from connection on the head, i think its from the ball joint. if i cant fix it i guess im going to get a flex pipe welded in there and hopefully that will solve the problem

don't worry about any strange smells in your car until you pass out or die

i guess so.

well i played around with the flange today it i sealed it up a little better but still has a sizzle sound to it. im gonna play around with it again tomorrow and i bought some high temp RTV silicone. i searched a found a post that someone used it on their ball joint and it worked so i guess ill try the cheaper way before i decide to have a flex pipe welded on.

don't use that silicone stuff. use only Permatex copper exhaust gasket maker sealant. it will be in the same aisle at the store
